Peleg is an intentionlly soured old ale. Although it is the only one I've had, I don't think being sour means that it is not an old ale since old ale isn't a very specific category.

similar to how saisons are an extremely broad classification, old ales were also most likely soured historically and at the very least had brett in them due to lack of sanitization
