BA peoples still trying to figure out DG's selection process. Some butthurts over there

Hm, doesn't seem too irrational, specially for BA....

Hate to break my snark streak but I think this was handled pretty poorly. If they must do a society then they should try to favor locals over ppl who have never been to the dern brewery. But really all these ****** places should just drop the societies already. There is no equitable way to do it, you turn off more people than you make happy and even the best solution of trying to cater to "local supporters" still kind of selects for punishers that live on social media (LOOKIN AT YOU EVERYONE ON TB) and excludes the people who support the brewery but don't introduce themselves to every brewer they meet. (Yes, real hot take I have here...)

I actually really respected DeGarde for killing Keepers the first time because its what most breweries should be doing at this point with their societies but they wont rip off the damn bandaid.

requisite "I already spent my monies and didnt even try for this" applies of course

WAIT I MEAN: UP YOURS FOREVER DEGARDE WHY YOU NO ANSWER MY EMAILS

Yeah. I have friends that got in... after I emailed, then told them. So...
**** my 600 de garde bottles in my celler. Original keepers member, Guess I didn't support them enough from day 1 to even bother with an I'm sorry email.

Should purge that cellar out of spite and send to me. Boycott them jerks.

I'd reach out directly, man. There's a lot of entitlement going around, but in your case... regardless of the selection process, it sounds like perhaps an oversight was made or your original email didn't make it through.

Thanks gene, Maybe. I'd love to think that... But I have a bad feeling Trevor left me out on purpose... not sure why though, just the way I think

These clubs aren't worth my money. I can see them being a big deal for people who don't live close to breweries that produce wild ales or through retail, but there's no shortage of them out here in the PNW. Most people I know that really buy a lot from de Garde just do it to trade away.

It's nice to not care about things like this.

T'is...But it's sometimes nice, for some people, to care about them, too. In moderation, and to the extent which is proportionate to whatever's really at stake. (Sidebar: this is a beer site, so make of the stakes in the present context what you will.)

De Garde cared enough about this program to not only revive it but further invest in it. They are surely very proud of it, and see it, among other things, as a way to reward, and maybe even establish a deeper connection with, the people who love their beer and love them, regardless of wherever these people may happen to live.

Personally, I didn't ever care to sign up, or much less worry about the minutiae of the whole process, but I do care about that. It positively means something, and something significant, to one of our best and most estimable breweries; and even if this self-imposed undertaking brought them many self-inflicted headaches as they took pains to get it right (however they ultimately defined that), the overwhelming demand they received is some pretty cool, and fully deserved, kind of validation for all they've accomplished...

To which I'll say, in other words, they earned their feverish attention and affection, and it's always nice to care about things like that, even if we don't benefit ourselves. Or never even wanted to...:)

This guy uses so many commas that a New York Times style editor would find it excessive.

I wasn't even being sarcastic! Just trying to suggest that if someone is a super-regular customer, who truly got into the inbox early but didn't get selected, then it was probably either random (to a certain extent) or, if it was not random, perhaps he was left out accidentally. Idk.
