We asked a group of five people who we had been repeatedly told were buying beer for a person selling it if that was the case and if they were paid to be there. These folks were coming back multiple times a week recently. When they said 'yes,' we said they could not buy beer to go. I know there are contrary stories on the interwebs, but so it is.
Our goal, as always, is to get our beer into folks hands for the best price we possibly can. Paying people to come and purchase for resale or anything else removes that possibility. We hope it's understood.
It was a ****** situation as you can imagine, and no grandmother was confronted or spoken to. She was just part of the paid group, and they carefully walked her out as they had in. I feel for her. Shame on whomever paid her family to bring her.
I had a small taste at the De Garde event at Belmont Station a couple weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. Super funk driven and I thought it tasted a bit like a hybrid of Broken Truck and the Duo. I think they used some of their older barrels in the blend maybe degardebrewing could shed some light on it?
It old. On average, it is old. I dig it.

FYI I never paid them anything, so if that was the case they were doing that for other people.

Rent a beach house in Netarts or Oceanside for the night and take your time... You'll get a beach house for less than a hotel room in Portland and have plenty of time to spend time in Astoria, explore the coast, and not feel rushed at de Garde.

FYI no kid's at de Garde. Although I have seen kids posted up on the lawn. Paging harrymel...

I've taken turns with family members playing with my daughter in the little dog park green space next to de Garde in the past while the rest of us enjoy some beers inside on regular non-party trip visit. I also remember someone setting a tent with their infant in it, right outside the rope at an anniversary party in the past. I've never ever considered bringing her along for the party weekends, though. That's just kinda mean.

The Air Museum is right there and I'm sure your kids would dig it if your wife is cool with the whole situation.

Also, Manzanita is a nice town to stay in. We got an AirBNB place there after the 2016 anniversary party.

IMO the stretch of coast from Cannon Beach to Manzanita (with Arch Cape in the middle) is the best place on the northern/central coast to post up for a couple days. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, hikes, beaches, surfing (how can you not like Short Sands?) and only about 40 minutes to De Garde and a bit more to Pacific City.

I worked out of Manzanita for three summers, traveling up and down the coast for wildlife surveys. I couldn't agree more! The hike up Mt. Neakhanie is a great view of that lovely stretch of land.

Not sure what town it was, but in between Cannon Beach and Tillamook I stopped for gas and the lady at the cash was talking to a local about orcas giving birth out in the bay right in their town. Warning for surfers.

What is the leash law for kids?

Probably Nehalem Bay.

An orca would never attack a surfer. Sharks on the other hand are not uncommon and there have been a handful of attacks over the years.

Totally doable if the weather permits. Have held baby on one side while straddling ropes and holding beer on other side and turned head to drink on legal side.

Have taken turns playing in the grass with baby mama

Have set up a tent with toys and goodies and just kept tent in line of sight as well.

It's all good and can be done. It's a law in OR, not a DG policy BTW.

Folks at degardebrewing have always been both apologetic and helpful in making sure we had a great time at their place.

Miss them.

So this is state law? What's the rule? My kids are 8/10 and they are cool with hanging outside if they have books/games/tablets or room to wrestle. I don't know what this place looks like so I'm not sure if that's doable.

What other places are off limits? All breweries? Getting nervous!!!!

IIRC should be fine with brewpubs, but breweries without grub are off limits. A local will be more apt at answering the question.

Or google

This is true, except for at Upright somehow. I can't claim to understand (or care) about the law though, as I'm kidless.

BigFrank there is a lot of grassy area right outside the front door at dG. Have seen kids there many times. Though I'm not sure what you do if they have to go to the bathroom.

Wolves & People as well does not have food available but kids are permitted.

And on the flip side, some pubs that do serve food choose to be 21+ so it's always worth check websites or calling first.
