In that environment who do you go to? The coach? You already have a staff memeber engaging in that behavior how can anyone in that organization be trusted. Honestly Martin was in a rock and hard place situation. If you take the accounts at face value he was willing to entertain thoughts of suicide and that goes beyond a little locker room banter.

Just like any other work environment. You go up. If your manager doesn't do anything, go to his manager, then to his manager and so on. Then in Martins case, you go to the NFL. If that doesn't work then you bring it to media
You don't start with media. I'm not saying what was done to him was ok or not, I'm talking more on how he handled it. There is always a path to follow and he skipped everything in the middle.

Agreed...

... and like I keep saying... annnnnny day now, the massive freakin' lawsuit will come.

Nice try changing the topic .... I can't think of a more dominating defensive season than the Seahawks team season. The fact that they clearly had the most impressive Super Bowl win in history was merely icing.

So Ryan Dempster just ups and quits on the Sox. Odd. Not a big deal... just an unusual deal. Tough to knock the guy though since I have no idea what the family issues are that pushed him to that decision. Must be significant though to leave $13mm on the table.

And we totally care about boston baseball

Oh. Cool! I'll keep talking about it then.

What do you think they're going to do with Ortiz? He came out all hard core about a new multi year contract but seems to have backed down off of that a little. I can't see them signing him to more than one year. Then again , the guy did hit something like .720 in the freakin playoffs last year.

There was a pretty good chance he was going to be traded this spring, since Brandon Workman is ready to take his spot as the long reliever/spot starter, probably more effectively and at about 4% of Dempster's salary. There are family issues that I don't believe are fully public, and I think in the end he didn't want to have to deal with those issues from Milwaukee or wherever the Sox were going to end up trading him.

It's cute when Sox fans talk about baseball and their eight world series titles like we should be impressed. Get to double digits first.

Awwww.

Consider...changing colors.

As for Hoppy...11 months of continued suckage coming from his general direction?

I don't think even he can keep that up...

Cheers! ;)

And root for who? The Pats? That window closed a LONG time ago. Why would I want to jump on a bandwagon of a team with a 36 year old QB, no receivers of note or who are not injury prone, and an annually terrible secondary?

Well, heck, it doesn't have to be the Pats, even if you'd finally be rooting for an actual playoff team for the first time in forever.

I hear the Dolphins are recruiting fans...

Cheers! ;)

I think the idea was to jump on the bandwagon of a team that has a chance at the Superbowl in the foreseeable future.

Yeah... Making three straight AFC Championships must mean the Pats are wayyyyy too long of a long shot.

You guys are silly.
