I love this thread when the pats lose, a feisty bunch they can be.
also, blatantly moronic.

I know you guys hate the Pats and we have a lot of fun here, but how can you not be furious just as football fans?!? This isn't week one. It is a penalty that was arbitrarily flagged in overtime, almost halfway through the g.d. season!
Well from that you are right. They should update or remove the video I found from their site. From that video it seems like it deals with second level defensive but the rule book doesn't specify.
I stand corrected.
Darwin18 said:Ohh...maybe you should be furious at your dumb ass player who committed a legal on the books penalty? That might be a good start. It's not like the refs made up a penalty to get you to the Superbowl right? I mean, shiiiit, that would be really messed up right? Nah, I think you should be furious at the GM of your team, who has showed appalling arrogance in assembling a group of junior college-talent misfits around his star quarterback. Do you honestly think that the Pats lose yesterday with Welker on the field? No f'in way.
Woke up today and seemingly found out what happened. The rule proposal was amended before it was passed to ban pushing of any "Team B" teammate at the line of scrimmage.
(Eyeroll). Dumbest post on this whole thread.
I am so sick of this ridiculously idiotic argument. "Ewwww. Your coach is arrogant. He got rid of Welker!!"
When Welker was allowed to walk the Pats had two dominant TEs... One turned out to a psychopath murderer (yeah... Right.. The Pats "should have known"... Right). And Gronk was supposed to be out for a fraction of what he actually was. Hernandez was a much larger, more WR than he was TE and between him and Edelman, they could have filled any holes left by Wes "I've dropped every effin important pass ever thrown to me" Welker. As a safety net , they grabbed Amendola. Hernandez doesn't murder people and Gronk doesn't take four years to come back from a broken forearm and this "Belichick is soooo arrogant" stupid bllsht never comes up.
The guy is a freakin slot receiver on a team with, at the time, two dominant tight ends, an emerging running game, and two guys who could sub in (Edelman and Amendola)... in addition to freakin Hernandez, for any balls Welker would have dropped.
It's effin pure stupidity. "Ohhhh they need Welker".

******* players committing stupid penalties? Let's start with the Jets D line having no f'ing clue what a neutral zone infraction is. But Brady was probably cheating with his snap count. And where was Welker last night? Oh yeah, dropping 4th quarter passes to help the Broncos get their first loss of the season to the Colts! Face it, the jets at their best, still need some fluke flag to barely win against a junior college team of misfits, minus Welker, their defensive probowlers, Talib, Vereen, etc, playing at their worst.
No... what I'm saying is if the Pats had a fraction of the team they thought they had... before a TE started murdering people and 40 injuries, Welker would have been a complete and total non-factor.
It's like the Jets losing half the effin D and me sitting here saying, "What an arrogant fck Rex Ryan is (or their GM) for letting Revis go!"
I also find it hilarious that a JETS fan has a sandy vag over Belichick being "arrogant"... he's "arrogant" because he doesn't talk to the media and comes accross as Darth Vader but yeah... Rex Effin Ryan who has't won sht... ever... has been the biggest trash talker in the league since he took over for hte Jets... that's fine.. but Belichick is "arrogant". Child please.

You really think Welker would be a non-factor? Obviously he would have been double covered and what not but that frees up coverage and keeps teams honest. Plus it gives Brady someone he has history with.

Jets WRs were wide open and that just can't happen. It is turning into a passing league and to win a game you need the D to stop some of those passes. Didn't happen for the Pats. They have been fighting this battle for a few years now.
I hear it helps to video tape your opponents practices so that you know where to position your defense accordingly.![]()
My point is, when Walker was allowed to walk, there was no real reason to think that they couldn't easily replace his production with... again... the two tight ends, the running backs, and then Edelman and Amendola. They weren't replacing Welker with Amendola. They weren't replacing Welker with Edelman, so showing stats between the two/three is stupid.
Hernandez started murdering people, Gronk took forever to come back. Amendola is dead...
"Ohhhhh Welker would save this team!!" BLLsht...
Welker has 44 catches for 474 yards.
Julian Edelman... a fcking re-purposed QB... has 46 catches for 455 yards playing Wes' old position.
"Oh but Wes has 8 TDs to Edelman's 2"!! big effin whoop. You're telling me Welker catches more TDs than Edelman this year in the Pat's offense?? gimme an effin break.
... and then... on top all of that... blame Belichick's "incredible arrogance" for letting Welker walk... given what he thought his offense was going to look like?? That's comical.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on Hernandez but Welker was a security blanket plain and simple. And a pretty durable one at that. As for Belicheck's arrogance... I have no issue with that. Makes him entertaining, same as Ryan.(Eyeroll). Dumbest post on this whole thread.

Yes, Edelman is a decent receiver. But Brady was desperate for new blood. He threw at Gronk 17 gd times yesterday of which he caught less than half of ffs.You guys keep taking the team as it is RIGHT NOW and saying, "Welker would have helped!". No sht. ANY decent WR would have helped on the team as it is RIGHT now.

They were basically saying, "Given everything else we have, our slot WR position isn't going to be as important and we can cover it with a combination of other things while we focus on other parts of the offense".

TDs across different teams mean jack**** but I do think the Pats would have been more stable and won the games they won more convincingly with Welker than without. He's used Edelman frequently because frankly... It's all he's f'n had. NE, prior to this week anyway, is like the only team with worse receivers than the Jets for crying out loud. You've convinced me man.... Damn that Belichick and his arrogance!!!! If he had just signed Wes Welker, the Pats would be so much better!! He would have had a ton more yards and TDs than anyone else in the league, he could have played both Tight End positons... And then both interior lineman positions... Linebacker who has led the team in tackles every year he's been on the team AND played shut-down corner ... Dammmmmmmn that Belichick!!!! If we only had Welker!!!!
