Pats just resigned Arrington (the bum) to a four year deal, so at least they're doing _something_ with the defense. Starting with the wrong corner, but it's at least a start...

He was pretty good when he only had to cover the slot. Now, he won't be able to keep up with Wes Welker, but it was good to see him resigned... as long as they bring back Talib and Dennard stays out of prison.

Woody's in San Diego, which is good because now I can buy my son a Woodhead jersey for half-price.

Abrahams will be a Patriot before the end of the day

Emmanuel Sanders would be a huge signing, among the guys they're talking to today. It's a question of whether it would be worth giving up a 3rd-round pick (he's a RFA), but he's got the speed where he could potentially be the deep threat they've been looking for. If they signed him, and have Amendola in the slot, and Lloyd (restructured) on the outside, and the tight ends, and Leon Washington out of the backfield.... that's six pretty damn good, diverse weapons.

Really? With Ridley and Vereen, you'd pick out Leon Washington, the return specialist, as one of the damn good diverse weapons to put on the field on offense? Bird, you disappoint me! ;)

Though on that point - the signing of Washington does puzzle me a bit. Isn't that the exact role Demps is supposed to be filling, and for what has to be a far team-friendlier cost (rookie contract)? Makes me wonder if the first season on IR and his choice to return to track in his offseason has the Pats reconsidering their direction with Demps...

Leon Washington....dynamic....Bwahahahahahaha. Oh wow, man that''s good. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

Perhaps the 2007 - 2008 version before he fractured his fibula.

He's a 30 year old return specialist who I doubt is going to make it through training camp.

Signing Emmanuel Sanders would be a nice coup for the Pats. Brandon Llyod still hasn't really meshed well with Brady. If you take away Lloyd's 2010 season with the Broncos he is a below average league receiver.

I can't wait to see Dwight Freeney in a Pat's uniform - the rest of the division is shaking in fear....

Just talking about the receivers, although Vereen is in that mold as well.

I'm 100% convinced that half the reason for the pursuit of Washington is that Demps doesn't seem willing to commit 100% to playing football - he still wants to run track competitively. That can't be flying well in Foxboro. He hasn't proven a thing yet, anyway - he would still have been a longshot to make the 53-man roster. I wouldn't read much into his spending his rookie year on the IR; he wasn't ready to play, so once he tweaked his hammy or whatever they threw him on IR and redshirted him.

Hey Darwin.... I got ONE word for you.

Jets.

I win

Wow way to go Broncos can't even afford to buy a watch to know what time the deadline to file paperwork is. I hope Dumerville leaves for good.

The Jets apparently signed Willie Colon?

Does that make one more colon for Sanchez to run into?

Edit: And who called the Abraham signing? Apparently that just happened too... Nice pickup for New England. Like that front 7 wasn't already looking scary.

Don't hate on Washington just because he found a way to be useful.

Seahawks > Jets.

Seahawks > Jets.

You think so? Hell, at the rate they're going, the average high school JV squad next year > Jets.

Try harder at this trash talking thing. You'll get the hang off it.

Maybe.

Looks like the vikes got an injury prone #1 WR. Should make the Packer, Vikings games a little more interesting this year.

I see the Pats locked up wilson should be a move that works out even if its an old player.

Wow. Word is that Aqib Talib has re-signed with New England... on a one-year deal ($5M). If this proves to be true, this is HUGE for New England... and amazing that the guy considered by most to be the best CB available in free agency would even consider a one-year offer.

Oh, and Donte Stalworth was injured in a hot-air balloon accident. Make up your own punchline.

Wow! Anyone watching the women's world curling championship? Canada fell to Scotland....gonna be an interesting week!
