It was appropriate!!!!

And don't change the topic!!!!!

Mr. Die Hard over there is blathering about loving to see other teams win... How is that NOT "rooting" or "being a fan"?!?!?!? And then saying, "Oh, I never said that"

YES YOU DID!!! It's right there in black and white!!!

This is what you said, "I love seeing other teams win and while the Ravens are ok, I love other teams too."

Dataz = airborneguy

I feel like Fredo taking Moe Greene's side in the casino, but you're just wrong, Cape.

There's a difference between being a "fan" of another team (also known as having a "secondary team") and rooting for another team when the outcome of their game does not impact the prospects for YOUR team.

I like Clay Matthews and root for the Pack... except if they're playing New England, or if for some reason the other team winning would somehow help New England. I'd never buy a Clay Matthews jersey. I don't spend time on Green Bay newspaper sites or fan sites other than to troll for FFB information.

Just like there are some teams I always root AGAINST. Arizona. Seattle (don't ask why, I just don't like 'em). Lots of AFC teams for obvious reasons. The Cowboys.

****, can I tell you a little secret? Promise not to tell... but a couple years ago, I started rooting for the Brewers. NL team - never play the Red Sox - and in a World Series I'd always root wholeheartedly for the Sox. They sucked at the time, this was before they became decent. I liked Prince Fielder. I like listening to games that Bob Uecker announces.

And... they're ****ing BREWERS.

I *almost* even bought a hat.... but I couldn't do it.

I'm guessing you don't play FFB, do you Cape? The world's FULL of conflicts then. Probably just as well, I'd be taking your $25 this year.

Airborneguy = Dataz = the Bird

It is a sad and pathetic world we live in.

And no, I don't play FFB anymore. Oddly enough i got too competitive about it and ended up not having any fun... and quit after like 6 years. Who wouldn't thunk?

You must have been a really ****ty FFB player.

"Crap, I need a tight end... Dallas Clark and Jason Witten are on the board, but **** it - I'M SELECTING BEN WATSON!"

So in other words, you sucked.

Actually no I didn't AirborneGuy. I actually went undefeated one year, won it another and ended up in the top three most of the other four years. I was pretty good. I just got too competitive and obsessed about it too much until the point it wasn't fun.

so... who ya' rootin' for this weekend??

Maybe looking for the Chiefs to pull of a big victory?? HEY!! The Jets seem to be a hot team right now. Maybe you can jump on that bandwagon.

Baltimore and whoever I have money on. Haven't looked at the lines yet so I don't know....... *******!

WHOAAA Whoa!!! C'mon now airborneguy... NO need to get nasty and start name-calling.

Do you want me to gather up a few pictures of what color jerseys different teams will be wearing this weekend and you can chose that way??

I'd never buy a Packers jersey, which is probably the best measure if you would consider yourself a "fan" or not.

I have 5 Packers jerseys (not counting 2 old Favre's), and only 1 Jets jersey, BUT, I have had Jets seasons tickets in the past and will again in the future at some point.

If your favorite team is an out-of-market team, I don't see how this is a conflict - especially when one is AFC and one NFC.

I obviously can't justify (or even get anyway) Packers season tickets, but I love going to games, so I got the Jets and root for them too.

lol... I went through this too for the same reason. Figured if I got a Sabathia jersey it would be okay since he's a Yankee now, but they are still almost $100!

You went through that too? You you are a red sox fan that likes to watch the brewers while wearing a CC jersey??????

This topic is old. You're all obviously team flip floppers and no amount of common sense is going to snap some of you out of your weasley flip-flopping ways so lets get back to the real issue... Whether or not the pats have to be favored to win-out on the season. I think you almost have to expect them to at this point.

Yeah, you're obviously high. And not smart.

Besides, you've blown all credibility with that freakin "i pick teams for the jerseys" crap. Are you sure its not airbournegirl?

The division hinges on Mark Sanchez. If he keeps playing the way he is then they will take the division. If he implodes when it gets cold, like everyone knows he will, then its really a toss up. Either way I don't see the pats winning it.

No problem... now I know where to find your pearls of wisdom when the season ends. It is always sweeter to come back afterwards and point out horrible theories.

Nice blast of smack today. I like it. FWIW I know some years ago I called the bird a closet cheesehead. He even had a Uecker avatar probably back in 07-08 timeframe. It's ok though since those are my teams ;)

I have a difficult time picking a secondary team. Couldn't root for AZ Cardinals when I lived there for 12 years. Same with D-Backs except when they beat the yankees which was awesome. Don't mind watching Twins since I've known JJ Hardy since he was a kid. But, for those who do pick a secondary team these are exempt by virtue of bandwagon:

Cowboys
Notre Dame (passé now)
Steelers
Lakers
Celtics
Yankees
USC
Duke
Not sure but maybe Packers, Pats but they had some really lean years. Liked them when they sucked then ok.

...Love Clay Matthews, wanted the Pats to draft him. Love how his dad and uncle played what, forty years combined and missed maybe half a season between them? Old-school player.
....

:off:

But you see some of the user posts on ESPN about Clay? Calling him all roid'ed up etc. Wouldn't completly discount it but people need to do their homework on the lineage of that long NFL/College FB family starting with Grandpa Clay.

You need to go with the combo of Yankees, Cowboys, Duke Basketball, Michigan Football, and Lakers.
