More Super Bowl wins?
More regular season wins?
Longest consecutive win streak?
Undefeated regular season and first team to ever go 18-0?
Most points ever scored by an offense in a year?

Cmon... the Colts??? Seriously??? One Super Bowl win, a TON of passing records by Peyton and even more absolute GAG fests in the playoffs.

THE COLTS!?!? (in my best Jim Mora voice)... THE COLTS!?!?

Hell, if you wanted to make any argument for another team that's worthy of discussion, it would be Pitt; at least they've won more than one title. They still aren't a dynasty, though.

The Patriots (they're a football team in New England)...

... and that was during the Eagles (they're a team that plays in Philly... sorry... Philadelphia) and Patriots Super Bowl.

...It's ok. you probably don't watch football so you wouldn't have known the nuance there.

BTW, condescension doesn't elevate your argument, it only diminishes it.
Making you, in fact, looking to be the more foolish.

It's true... they lost that Super Bowl. But they still went 18-0 before that and no team had ever done it.

.... 4 points shy of going down as the greatest team every to take the field.

... and please... anyone thinks THAT is a wrong statement and you're going to REALLY show your ignorance.

It would have been the only team ever to go undefeated in a regular 16 game season instead of the wussy 14 game season the 72 Dolphins played.
Most points ever by an offense
Largest margin of victory average in the history of the NFL..

... and f'in Eli Manning breaks 45 tackles, heavs up a prayer and Tyree catches it on his fin helmut.

Eh... screw it... the Pats didn't deserve to win that game. The Giants D was unreal and the Pats played like crap.

They're still awesome and anyone who thinks otherwise is a stupidhead

You having trouble with reading comprehension?

Maybe I missed something.

The team was fined.

Apparently there was an admission by the league that this was done in error.

I would assume that, if that was the case, then the fine would be reversed.

Did that happen?

I know... read the title of this thread though.

I think they are. They certainly haven't shown any dominance this year, and they haven't really played any top teams.

Yeah, I wouldn't think of the Ravens as a top team either.

5-2 with a QB coming back from a major injury. Brady's now shaken the rust off, and they're looking an awful lot like that '07 squad. Defense is the best it's been in years.

I'll give you Baltimore, but they have had their ups and downs this season too.

And they also lost to the Jets so that kind of nullifies that win.

So you're saying that the pre-game and practice accusation was found to be false.

And you're not denying the super bowl cheat.

Ok... I'll take a break from being obnoxious.

When someone had posted saying they had filmed "pregame and practices:"... there was only ONE time that the Pats had ever been accused of filming pregames and practices and that was for the Rams/Pats Super Bowl (not the Eagles... sorry). After the league looked into those accusations, it all turned out to be false and the Patriots were NOT fined for it.

They WERE fined, however, for filming signals during regular season games.... which was a different set of facts and circumstances.

I was simply saying that the "practices and pregame" thing that someone had specifically mentioned, was false.... and it was.

So no, they never got their money back because they were never fined for it.

Pats were fined for filming signals during regular season games. No one disputes that. How much this actually benefitted the team is of significant controversy; it's information that the team could have legally acquired using manpower, the videocamera was basically just a shortcut. The information wasn't even being used during the games that the filming was being done, it was being used for future scouting purposes. So, the team's fine, Belichick is personally fined a metric ****ton of money, and we lose a first round draft pick. So, we took it up the ass as punishment. It was against the rules, and we were punished. Anyone who thinks that's the only reason the team was so good is clueless, as evidenced by being 18-1 (and one unlucky play from being 19-0; the Giants were better, but still... ****ing Tyree...) the following season.

The more serious allegation was that before the SB, the Pats filmed their practices and walk-throughs, which was disproven and therefore no punishment ever meted out. Wholly separate allegation.

I just think it's funny how easy it is to get New England fans all riled up! :p

How long were they the laughing stock of the league, they win a couple of Super Bowls and now they're God's gift to football! It's the same with the freakin' Red Sox!

I would probably be the same way if any of my teams finally win a championship, but until then I just need to have complete and utter disdain for them!

exactly.. What Bird said.

(now putting my obnoxious hat back on)

... and that's the big problem with this whole thing, you have a bunch of people who really don't have a solid understanding at all of what actually took place, hopping online and whining and crying nonstop about stuff the Pats didn't even do.... or DID actually do but isn't remotely as bad as they think.

Like I was saying... and Bird just said... It's not illegal to steal signs. Yet that's what everyone always cries about. "OOOO THEY CHEATED!!! THEY STOLE SIGNS!!!"

No... they used a video camera instead of a notepad after the league had told them specifically NOT to

Just because I'm in San Diego, what makes you think I'm a Chargers fan?

This place is full of transplants, but paradise usually is.

Are you capable of that?

How 'bout them Chargers eh?

Three playoffs wins this decade... PRE-TTY sweat huh? Of course we have that many Super Bowl wins but I'm sure the weather is nice at the stadium. That's a plus.

Have they really had 3 playoff wins? When?

It was not disproved. It wasn't proven.
The NFL, by it's own admission, destroyed all information regarding the Pariots investigation after they issued the fine. So perhaps now, it can never be independently substantiated.

Kind of like the Tom Cable incident with his assistant coach.

It can't be proven, that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
