The Pryor fine could not be more ridiculous. TEXTBOOK tackle. Couldn't be cleaner. Wasn't late. Absolute bull****.

I don't mind the fine on Meriweather, that was a bad hit that was clearly against the rules. Pryor? Bull****.

Agreed!

We need to find a way to make our voices heard about these rediculous new rules. Is there any way the stupid NFL will listen to it's fans? (other than stop watching?:D)

If I want to watch tennis, I'll change the effing channel! Coming soon standard with all NFL uniforms: A pink tutu, with sparkles!

Congratulations NF#%ckingL: You just added to the reasons I enjoy College football more!

I liked Troy Palamalou (sp?)'s suggestion, that fines should be determined by a multi-person committee. I'd have a representative from the league office, a representative from the officiating crew, and a representative from the players' union (maybe a former player, someone who's retired recently). The players' union obviously doesn't want big fines, but it's also wholly in their best interest to make sure the game is played cleanly, so the players don't get injured. The league office would obviously need a vote, and a veteran official would also provide a useful voice. Majority vote.

Pats got blasted. Of course, the Lions could have helped.

But Noooooooooo, the Lions are the dumbest football team in history. Play action pass on third and six, under 2 minutes, and the Jets without a timeout? Are you fvcking kidding me? Morons.

And a late hit on Tomlinson. Just absolute stupidity.

Stupidity, sadly, is simply incurable.

I hate the Jets, but now I really hate the Lions. I couldn't bring myself to muster more than pity for the Lions but now ....

Missed it (been working all day, no football yet). What's the Philly fans do now?

Could be worse than being a Pats fan today - could be a fan of the Seahawks!

Guy got creamed and was knocked out (looked like a dead horse with appendages sticking up in the air), and the play drew a flag. Philly fan and players are screaming and booing about the call as the guy is laying there half-dead....

It was a bad call, yes; but at least wait until the guy's carted off the field before acting like assess....

ahhhhhhaahahhahhahahahhahaahahhaahhaha!

the browns!? the BROWNS?!?? bbbaaaaaaahahahahhahaah

patriots got TROUNCED! man i wish I could have watched that, i was in the air. now i'm IAH, i get to watch ~1 hour of the pack before my 4 hour flight to sacramento....

First, for all of you crying about the Philly fans complaining about the call; STFU. It was an awful call (the refs were making awful calls all game) and it negated a turnover while giving Indy a first down. The league needs officials for the officials or they need to start throwing out fines to the officials making these awful calls.

Second, HOW BOUT THEM BROKEBACKS? 1-7 baby! How is that Super Bowl win in your own stadium looking now? AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

They booed the refs for trying to fix a game. So classless to expect the refs to keep integrity involved in the game.

Bad call is an understatement. Also, you conveniently forgot to point out how the Philly fans gave Collie cheers of support when he was moving as he was being taken off of the field. Then again you obviously have an agenda and that would counteract everything you're trying to do.

And also, F U to the Pats. Thanks for NUTHIN!
And a big F U to the Lions, unequivocally the dumbest team in professional sports.

Let's see, you have a 20-17 lead at the 2-minute warning. The Jets have no timeouts and you're facing 3rd and 6. One more running play, even if you don't get a first down, and you take a minute off the clock. But no, let's run play-action with our backup QB, not complete the pass and allow the clock to stop. Brilliant, simply brilliant.

Fine, we'll give the ball back to the Jets with 1:40 left. No problem.

Oh, and let's just throw in a blatant late hit so we can hand the Jets the tying field goal. Brilliant.

That one felt pretty damn good.:D :ban:

Homer - Believe it or not, I was rooting for the Lions yesterday. Our local coverage switched to the Lions/Jets when our game was over. Man, I thought it was in the bag. 3rd down, no time outs for the Jets, under two minutes on the clock, and you throw a pass that stops the clock and gives the Jets ~1:30 to kick a field goal????? Run the ball or take a freakin' knee for crissakes, but don't throw a pass. That play call may go down in history as one of the dumbest calls by a professional coach. It's like the Lions are inventing ways to lose. Definitely, the Lions are better than their record. You're still gonna end up sending me an IPA, though.

Shecky - the day the greatest team since the dawn of time has to rely on THE LIONS for schedule help is the day that team has jumped the shark. :cross::mug:

Ugggg... you guys are all WAY too caught up in winning and losing. Isn't it more important that teams displayed good sportsmanship!?? Isn't that want we want for our children!?!? THINK OF THE CHILDREN WILL YOU!?!?

Ugh. I missed the end of the game. A friend an I stopped at Applebees to see the end of the 3rd quarter before we had to get up to TC to meet more friends. I am SO glad I missed it though. I would have been pissed.

Just when you think they are starting to get their sht together...:drunk:

IPA being brewed this Saturday...

How's about them Green Bay Packers?

With Dallas being so bad I hope GB doesn't start thinking all cocky. My avatar kicked some cowboy butt though that's for sure.

Time to get healthy & whoop some viking arse in 2 weeks.
