AND WHILE I'M AT IT........

more on the mountain of bllsht around Welker leaving last year... remember when everyone was jizzing all over the keyboards?? "ewwwwww good luck replacing him Pats... Belichick's effin EGO is sooooooo insane that he thinks he can just cut everyone!!!"

Effin Danny "China Cabinet" Amendola and Edelman combined for 159 catches for 1,689 yards and 8 TDs last year versus Welker's 73 catches for 778 yards and 10 TDs.

... and the Pats paid Amendola AND Edelman, combined, $4.37M versus the $4.55M that Welker made on his own. So the Pats got double the catches and double the yards for LESS money... and the insurance contract of having two guys who can play the position in case one got hurt... which... happened.

The Bronco's have Welker on thier books for $8M next year... the Pats have just Amendola on the books for $4.5M....

"Oooooooo Belichick and his ego!!!!!!!"

You funny guys... you make me laugh.

China Cabinet only had 633 yards and 2 TDs. Only 2 TDs playing with the greatest QB of all time? Who a ****ing joke!! Edelman had 1,056 yards and 6 TDs and he used to be a QB! China Cabinet was signed as a direct replacement/upgrade to Welker. Welker's 2013 numbers look pretty damn good next to China Cabinet's and Edelman's not on the team anymore. You're stuck with China Cabinet as your replacement not just for Welker but Edelman now.

The Pats signed China Cabinet to a $28.5 million contract over 5 years. In 2013, base salary + bonus + misc led to a cap hit of $3.575 mill.

Edelman had a one year contract with a $765K cap hit.

Welker's 2013 contact, base salary + bonus + misc led to a cap hit of $4.15 mill.

In what world is $3.575 mill + $765K > $4.15 mill?

The Bronco's have Welker on thier books for $8M next year... the Pats have just Amendola on the books for $4.5M....

Welker's contract expires after 2014. After that the Broncos and Welker can walk away clean. It's a pretty smart contract.

China Cabinet is signed through 2017. His cap hits will be:

2014 - $4.575 mill
2015 - $5.575 mill
2016 - $6.575 mill
2017 - $7.575 mill

China Cabinet has shown that he can't play a full season. Not even close.

... and on an unrelated note...

Hooooooooooly *%&@!!!!! Is Mark Davis, the Raiders owner, the most fcked up lookin' dude on the planet or what??? DAMN

mark-davis-oakland-raiders.jpg

This is exactly how I imagine Hoppy looks, right down to the re-re haircut.

China Cabinet was signed as a direct replacement/upgrade to Welker.

No... he wasn't... he AND Edelman were.

And how did it work out?? Who put up better numbers?

I'm not looking at "cap hit", I'm looking at SALARY.. what the teams PAID them.

You can try to freakin' twist it out your azz any way you want but at the end of the day, the Pats PAID Edelman and Amendola less than the Broncos PAID Welker last year and got better numbers and the flexibility out of them.

... and as has been brought up a few times... you, a freakin JETS FAN, are really going to knock a team that's effin' OWNED the division for the last 13-14 years over "bad contract negotiations" ??? Are you fuggin HIGH??

The numbers I provided are the salaries + singing bonus + misc (extra bonuses). IE the Money the teams paid to those players that year. If you want to take a look:

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/

China Cabinet: $3.575 mill
Edelman: $765 K
Total: $4.34 mill for both players.

Welker: $4.15 mill.

Again, I'm asking how $4.14 is > than $4.34 mill???

China Cabinet was not signed to be a great tandem with Edelman. He was signed to directly replace Welker's production. He was viewed as a younger and cheaper version of Welker with the intention of playing Welker's exact same position.

... and as has been brought up a few times... you, a freakin JETS FAN, are really going to knock a team that's effin' OWNED the division for the last 13-14 years over "bad contract negotiations" ??? Are you fuggin HIGH??

Hell yeah I'm going to knock the Pats down as much as I can. I hate the team, I hate the players, I really hate the coaching staff, and I even hate the owner.

Look up how many games Amendola played last year and then look up how many games Welker played last year.

... then go ice up son

China Cabinet played 14 games including playoffs.

Welker played 16 games counting playoffs.

What's your point exactly? Cabinet played less games and had less production than Welker. Two TDs while playing with the greatest QB of all time? What a joke. Keep rooting for a loser, this is entertaining.

Two games. TWO.

"Keep rooting for a loser".... Coming from a Jets fan.

THAT'S entertaining! Haha!!

And actually... It's ONE game because the Bronco's made it to the SB and the Pats didn't... So its a ONE game difference you're jerkin off over.

Mark Sanchez.

That is all.

Woah woah woah. Dont forget about the fans :mug:

I can't hate the fans. It's not their fault that they live in a terrible part of the country and are stuck rooting for a team that is the epitome of obnoxious.

Cape - Still waiting to hear how $4.14 is > than $4.34 mill?

It's not.... And I explained that already. I went by what the salaries were per year.

I'm still waiting for you to explain how Wilfork is fckin "under valued".

Speaking of "value".... How's Sanchez treating you being the second highest paid player on the roster? How's that $12.8m in salary workin out this year?? Cause that seems like a slightly bigger number than the $200k delta between fcking Welker and Amendola/Edelman.

You guys and your arguing over numbers...

Come on, we all know facts have no place in this thread...

Except for one: Pats haven't won a superbowl since something like ~4 years before this thread was even started...

Yeah, cause salaries alone account for 100% of the money the teams are paying the players each year? Right? That's how it works, right?

Okay... You totally win. Man... The egg is on my face! The Pats took $200k more of a cap hit to have Edelman and Amendola on their roster... then Welker. Oooooooooo. Those stupid Patriots!!! If they could only be as awesome as the Jets who are paying.... what now??! Sorry... I only know the salary so help me out with the fcking "cap hit" for Sanchez.

Cuz... You know... Back up QBs don't count... Right??? Right??!

Idzick has a plan for Sanchez. I'm not overly concerned about it either. They have a couple more weeks to keep him twisting on the roster before they have to cut him. Did you see that 49'ers traded a 6th round pick for Gabbert, and he's done nothing at in the league. Sanchez is at least worth a 5th round pick, maybe even a 4th. Idzick fleeced the Bucs last year, whose turn is it this year?

Also, when did Welker start playing two positions on the field at the same time? It's level of stupid that you're combining Edleman/Cabinet stats and trying to compare to Welker.

LOL!!!! Okay.... I know I go with the whole "hahaha!!!" thing a lot but I actually DID just start laughing out loud.

Just stop now. You broke the tension by saying something hysterical.... We can laugh about it all now... And now we can go back to mocking Hoppy's intelligence.

The team with Welker made it to the Super Bowl and other team in this tediously unnecessary discussion did not make it to the Super Bowl. Denver wins. Throw out stupid stats if you like but that doesn't change the results. Receiving yards? Really? Who cares... Bunch of analytic hacks you are.
