True i imagine its like my Mariners the owner died so now i just need upper management to realize they suck and move on...we are 2 down with 1 to go #Daretodream2014

I like it. While it's unfortunately sad for the affected families when someone dies, for us nut job football fanatics, it might mean a new owner will "clean house" of a diseased franchise filled with time proven losers.

Seeing as the Mariners are paying a 31-year old 2B $240 million for 10 years who has a well documented lack of hustle, it's going to be a long, looooong time before the Mariners get even close to the playoffs, let alone the World Series. But hey who knows, MLB just keeps adding post-season spots in the hopes that we'll be interested in watching baseball during Thanksgiving.

Nice analysis...

The Mariners won't win for a long time because of Cano, a great baseball player. Never mind the solid pitching and farm players.

31 ain't that old for baseball. They are in far better shape than a lot of teams.

31 is pretty freaking old for a 2B. Realistically, and without any juice, he has what three to four years where he can play that position at an least average level? Then you get to pay $24 mill a year for a converted outfielder/DH into his early 40's. Stupid. Not to mention he's going to take up a nice % of the Mariner's salary for the next ten years. Even the Yankees weren't stupid enough to match that salary.

As for football, thank god the Jets finally cut Santonio Holmes. His legacy with the team is that the team now no longer has permanent team captains...Sad to see Cromartie get cut. He might be a terrible human being off the field but he loved the team and he made some great plays. I'm hoping that they bring him back at a reduced contract.

Cape - the Pats in the market for an overpriced, torn ACL, god-complex CB? It would be a nice acquisition.

What??

What's your problem? I've never said baseball didn't suck. Last year was yet another championship Boston can toss on the pile but.... pfft. It's baseball.

BREAKING: Jets will NOT cut Mark Sanchez. They will move him to CB because of his elite ability at keeping the ball away from wide receivers

Could have fooled everyone. Seriously, Tannehill needed one win over a Jets team with nothing to play for to get his team to playoffs, and what? Straight up choke job.

Yeah cuz he plays all 22 positions, good logic. Look up how many times he was sacked that game. Too damn many.

Yeah cause all of those sacks were his line's fault, not because he held the ball too long against a team that had absolutely nothing to play for. You can make excuses for Tannehill if you want. I admit he's an intriguing player but he hasn't done anything of note to really impress. Would I rather have Tannehill on my team? Um, yeah of course.

Hey Cape - Edelman in green and white would look very nice. Is letting your best receivers walk in free agency and replacing them with injury prone scrubs the Patriot's way?

Jets fans were surprised how well they did last year yet Dolphins fans were disappointed, with the same record. You guys just suck so hard that I cant be too confused as to why you would want to take it out on us. Carry on.

He's all yours. Enjoy.

Is sucking horribly and making the playoffs about once a decade the Jets way?
