nah... I still think dataz's mom is going to give them the pick
Now... a LOT hinges on whether Hernandez/Tate can do enough to stretch the D for Welker/Edelman underneath.
your mom
Compensatory picks.
Nope. Compensatory picks are basically created out of thin air, you don't give up picks when you sign free agents (at least under the current CBA; it could have been different previously).
With all the changes coming, it could well be that compensatory picks go away in the near future, anyway. In a case like this, it would have been an incentive for the Pats to let Moss walk at the end of the year, so it's not something the players' union is likely in favor of.
With all these picks the Pats are accumulating... sure be nice to see them package them up and get into the top 5 for a change. Get ourselves an IMPACT player, a new Richard Seymour. Wondering if they might actually move up in the draft, if a rookie-scale is imposed.
Interesting. I don't see that happening. As nice as Monday's win was, it was built on Miami's special teams idiocy and Henne's being average, at best. Chung had open lanes on both kick blocks, which is a Miami scheme thing that NE took advantage of (not coincidentally, Miami's specials coach was fired Tuesday). Chung's INT return was a bad route by Marshall, nothing that Chung did especially well. And the Pats had no pressure on Henne at all. Granted, the Dolphins' OL is pretty good but still.Thing is, I'm convinced they could make a run this year, maybe they aren't a title contender but I could certainly see them making the AFC Championship game if they keep progressing as they have.

Reports surfaced Tuesday that Moss had requested to be traded after the season opener and, after being thrown at just once Monday night against the Miami Dolphins and finishing the game with zero receptions, had a confrontation with Belichick.
Receiver Randy Moss and New England Patriots quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien were involved in a heated exchange at halftime of the team's victory Monday over the Miami Dolphins, according to player sources.
The locker-room exchange, described as an "outburst" by one player, came two days before the Patriots traded Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2011 third-round draft choice, and could have contributed to the team's decision to make the deal.
The Patriots trailed 7-6 at halftime of the game, and Moss had just one pass thrown in his direction up to that point. He finished without a reception and wasn't thrown to in the second half.
On Wednesday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said in a statement that he has had discussions during the "past several months" with Moss and his representatives about Moss' "place on our team and his future in football."
Belichick added that "many things were taken into consideration before making the trade."
Moss was in the final year of his contract and did not expect to return to New England in 2011.
Player sources said the halftime exchange was not the first time they had felt friction between Moss and O'Brien, who calls the offensive plays.
After Monday's win, when asked by the Boston Herald about being held without a reception, Moss said, "It's called a game plan."
I love it, revis is still talking **** on Moss even though he got burned a couple weeks ago.
Well I guess all that MN has left to do is hire Dick Cheney as Coach and swap their logo with Pedobear.
Pats gotta still be odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl at this point... even without Moss. How could they not be? Who would be a bigger favorite besides everyone?![]()

Yeah... But they suck. The Patriots-West are going to be good. How couldn't they be with so many Patriots? But as much as they TRY to be the Patriots, they can't BE the Patriots and therefore, they suck.
Who are the Chiefs' GM, Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator?
Another thought:
What's San Diego looking to get now for Vincent Jackson? He's not going to play much, if any, ball for them ever again, and he'll walk at the end of the season. I know the Vikings failed to acquire VJ... but maybe? He's got what, a four- or five-game suspension (maybe six, it's confusing) still to serve, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them take a chance and make another deal. Seems like the asking price can't be more than a second- or third-rounder at this point.
Swap out Moss for Vincent Jackson (and then giving him a long-term contract)... ****, I'd do that deal!
Wondering, too, since now there's no Moss extension overhanging, whether they might buck up and get a deal done with Mankins.
