I'm planning to make a partial-mash Nut Brown Ale next weekend. I am looking for a brew with low bitterness, a little sweetness, and a lot of nuttiness. I've based my recipe off of Jamil's Nutcastle, as well as BYO clones for Bell's Best Brown and Dogfish Head India Brown. I think it looks okay, but I'm worried it's more complex than it needs to be. Please let me know what you think of the recipe and if you have any advice for how to max out the nuttiness!

7# Light LME
1# Victory
.75# Special Roast
.5# Crystal 40
.25# Pale Chocolate
.125# Roasted Barley

1.2 oz Kent Goldings @60min
.5 oz Kent Goldings @5min

Wyeast 1028 London Ale

Dip nuts in it! Seriously though - the recipe looks pretty good. You can add nuts in the steeping (or mash) but then you need to add some flaked barley or something else to aid in head retention in the finished beer.

I ended up splitting this batch into two 2.5 gal batches in the secondary. One is as is, one has 1 lb. of frozen cherries added to it. I'm interested to taste the differences.
