Greetings from Northern VA! I am Terrance and I am very new to homebrewing. I just completed my 2nd batch (1st was extract, 2nd AG ) and realize I have a lot to learn.

I have gained a wealth of knowledge from this forum and look forward to learning a lot .
more from all of you.

Welcome Terrance! I am in NOVA too. Just went to my first GRiST homebrewer's club meeting last week, you should check them out.

Depending on where in Nova you are located there are a few club options. We here in the Woodbridge area have the Prince William Brewers Guild. If you or anyone is so inclined, we are sponsoring a Purcerville brewery tour this Sat from 11AM-5PM. The bus is leaving and returning from/to Woodbridge. Transport fee is $50 for non-club members. We also meet once a month. Let me know if you are interested in either.

Cheers,

Sheldon

Hidely Ho, Neighborino!

Going all grain on your second batch is ambitious for sure, but not insurmountable. Like these folks said, check out some of the neighborhood clubs. Lots of group brews going on, or at least other experienced folks more than happy to have a helping hand/apprentice on brew day. Depending on where in NOVA you are, there NOVA Homebrewers (Loudoun-ish, I believe), BURP (everywhere, the grandfather of all local clubs), GRiST (close in, Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church mainly), DC Homebrewers (or at least, lots of folks from NOVA cross the river to go to their meetings), Wort Hogs (Reston/Herndonish), Prince William Brewer's Guild (that should be self explanatory), and probably more I can't think of off the top of my head. Many of us are members of multiple (GRiST, DCHB, and BURP myself), so scope em all out if you like.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I am in Woodbridge and I reached out to the Prince William Brewer's Guild this afternoon as it seems they are probably the closest to me. I will be attending their next meeting in Aug (barring my wife making plans and then telling me at the last minute...lol).

I am anxious to learn all that I can about homebrewing from gents that share this passion and possess a wealth of knowledge and experience to go with it. Hopefully one day I will become the veteran and can pass along to another noob the knowledge that will be passed on to me.

Thank you all again!
