make sure pint glass is VERY clean. If you pour a glass and walk away for a minute only to come back to a pint of cider fizzing like crazy, it's because your glass has crap in the bottom of it. Too many nucleation points means flat cider. Which is fine, but not if you want it fizzy!
 
I actually don't use Sam glasses with my cider. It loses the carbonation to quickly for me and I carbonate to 3.5 atmospheres.
