I'm doing my first batch with a Coopers micro brew kit. Today marks the 7th day. Using their instructions it says 5-7 days with a hydrometer reading of 1008-1010.

I took a hydrometer reading yesterday and it was 1.012. I have the same reading of 1.012 today. Should I just wait and see if it drops some more or is it ready to bottle? Since this is my first time, I don't want to ruin it.

Thanks for the help!

7 days is a pretty short primary, I'd give it another few days to see if it drops some more. The yeast also needs time to clean up all of its own byproducts too. I think 21 day primary fermentations are optimum if your not going to use a secondary fermenter which many of us don't.

you need to wait at least 2 1/2-3 weeks for fermentation to cease and the yeast to clean up after themselves. just try not to get to excited. You can wait, you can do it

I agree... 3 weeks should be a minimum. However, some people bottle sooner and have good beer.
