The family just upgraded to a bigger above ground pool and I'm looking to heat it. Does anyone think filling my keggle and boiling water with my wort chiller in it and pumping the pool water thru it would be an on idea?

fwiw, prolonged chlorine exposure is bad juju for stainless steel.

In any case, the energy requirements to move a pool full of water one degree are humongous...

Cheers!

I didn't know that about chlorine. I bet you could put a black tarp on the bottom of the pool to use the sun's rays to warm the pool faster.

I think you'll need/want more surface area than your immersion chiller would provide. And you'll want a copper IC if you do try this.

EDIT: Looks like there's an update with a "Cajun conversion" using two Cajun burners like the ones we use for brewing.

Read all his warnings. This is just as dangerous if not more so than brewing.
