I'm thinking about brewing my first batch of beer, and it'll most likely be from this 1-gallon kit. I normally brew other things like mead and cider since that's what I like. I'm not crazy about beer because I don't like bitter. The only beers I like are sours.

Anyhow, the kit comes with 3.5 grams German Perle hops, to be boiled in for 30 minutes. I'm not crazy about hops (the bitter issue) and my question is, can I use less hops and/or boil for less time in order to decrease the hoppiness of this beer?

TiA!

I used this same kit before. It's not hoppy at all. I'm not a fan at all of IPAs either. I only brew beers that are an IBU of 20 or less. I think this one is under 20 or damn close. It'll be fine.
