I'm looking for some homebrewers in the North Austin/Round Rock/Georgetown area that could help me diagnose some beer problems. Please drop me a line of the weekend if you would be will to taste some beer. This is a result of a few post I made earlier regarding kegging

I've recently brewed two batches on was a Blonde Ale that I had brewed several weeks back and kegged last weekend. The other is my first all grain batch a Sam Adams Summer Ale Clone and both are showing signs of the same awful flavors. The taste is kind of soapy or astrigent.

I mentioned in one of the posts that I had been using oxiclean and I'm wondering if I used too much and it causing some oxidation. I cannot think of how I might have oxidized either of these beers. I will say that they the Blonde stayed in primary over two weeks and secondary about a week and has been kegged a week.

Any local help would be greatly appreciated.

To me, without tasting the beer, it sounds like you are not rinsing the Oxyclean enough. You really have to rinse really well to remove the soda ash. You may save some money using Oxiclean but if you consider your time, all the water to rinse, and the risk of leaving some Oxyclean behind, you have to consider whether it is worth it or not. I recommend using something that is a no rinse cleaner / sanitizer like One Step or Cleanatizer.
