Big Brew Day This Saturday
Looking for something fun, exciting, educational and tasty to do this Saturday? If so, come out to Homebrew USA, Norfolk JANAF location, between 8am and 3pm on Saturday, May 7th, to celebrate National Big Brew Day with us. The first Saturday of every May, there are national celebrations to honor the art of brewing. This year we will have all-grain brewers from Beer and Ale Research Foundation brewing in the parking lot as well as any local homebrewers (and this means you!) that wish to bring out their brew pot and a turkey burner to brew. Chris Knight, president of Beer and Ale Research Foundation and one of the assistants to the brewer at OConnor Brewery will be holding an all-grain clinic at 9:30am for those interesting in watching the process and asking questions. There are also rumors that the Brewers from OConnor Brewery and Beach Brewery might come by as well after their morning mashes.
Even if you dont want to brew, there will be lots of food and a good time to be had. In the morning, Orange Tree Hill will provide us with amazing baked breakfast goods and in the afternoon the brewers from Beer and Ale research Foundation will have the grill and smoker set up for smoked chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and many side dishes. You know most brewers are also foodies so the food alone should be worth the drive!
If you have friends that are interested in brewing, bring them with you! It is a wonderful opportunity to see different methods of brewing as well as having any brewing questions answered.
The weather looks like it is going to cooperate, so bring it!
Just a reminder, our Norfolk address is:
5802 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. #115, Norfolk, VA 23502
