My wife gave me a beginner's home brew setup for Christmas, and a friend gave me a lot of his old equipment/literature as well. Started last night, brewing a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone. I followed the recipe, and now I'm just waiting for my wort to start fermenting. Already loving this hobby!

Sounds like you were def on the nice list. Congrats & welcome to your new obssesion! You'll only sink deeper from here!:tank::drunk::cross:

I'm two months out after my first batch. I have 4 fermenters going and 7 batches brewed. The only problem is my waistline and New Years resolution.

Welcome to the insanity. Now's the time when you'll be making trips to the LHBS every week to buy this and that. It just keeps getting better! LOL

Welcome to the addiction. You're going to find that making the beer is easy, being patient is the hard part. Best solution is to brew more, and get a good pipeline going. Makes waiting for batches to ferment and condition/carbonate a whole lot easier.

I'm so excited. Wort is in the basement, and the bubbles are rocking through the airlock. You guys are right, the waiting is killing me.

There is no real cure for this waiting but the next best thing is to start another beer. It's New Year's Eve but your LHBS might be open and will sell you another fermenter and a kit for another beer. I love having more than one beer fermenting at a time and 3 or 4 is great.
