I put my wort in the secondary ferminter last Friday and for about a week now it has been foamy and gassing off. Today I noticed the the foam was almost gone. Is this normal or did something go wrong?

Hmmm, normally there is little or no krausen in the secondary, how long did you leave it in the primary or better yet what have the gravity readings been along the way?

It's normal. Sometimes when you rack to secondary the yeast cells get woken back up and can ferment pretty vigorously. But you're good, the krausen dropping just means the yeasties are going back to sleep.

I left it in the primary for 7 days just like the kit said to. I have not taken any gravity readings. What should it be reading before you take it out of the primary? By the way, this is my first brewing experience.
