So for my first batch I decided to go with an AHS Our special holiday ale extract kit. When boiling though, I never had any boil over, or I guess hot break like I was expecting. When boiling my yeast starter I did have the boil over happen so I was caught a little off guard. Other than that everything else went fine. Gravity was .008 higher than kit standard so I think that should be alright. Sanitation is the only thing I worry about, but that's just because I'm germophobic, but I used star san both coating and in a spray bottle. So the hot break (or lack of) is the only thing I'm worried about. Just wondering if this is normal.

It's normal. Extract has already been processed, so you may not get a hot break. As long as you had a nice rolling boil (for the hops utlization), then there is nothing to worry about!
