No Bubbles after 24 hours. Re-pitch yeast?

I brewed a porter the other night. I couldn't get the temp down low enough so I had to wait overnight to pitch my yeast, around 10 hours after flame-out. I didn't want to mess with the sanitation too much so I basically swirled around the bucket a bit to aerate and then sprinkled it in (US-05). I pitched it exactly 24 hours ago and I'm not getting any bubbles or krausen (I peeked in the bucket). When should I think to pitch another packet of yeast? Also, how would I go about pitching it? It's currently at 65 degrees. Does the lower temp factor in? Am I impatient?

I'd give it another day and if you need to add a new packet of 05 you should rehydrated it prior to pitching, but sprinkling it on will be fine.
 
Same. It can take more than 48 hours to see visible activity, sometimes as much as 72. I bet they're doing their thing right now even if you can't really see it.
 
I've never rehydrated dry yeast. I'll wait another 24 hours and if it doesn't start moving I'll re-pitch with rehydrated US-05.

This is a damn expensive coconut coffee porter (Last Snow Clone) and it'd be disastrous if it didn't ferment properly or got infected, something that's never happened to me after 2 years of brewing.

While it is uncommon for dry yeast to not take off it can happen. Pitch in another pack if you are concerned. A $3 pack of yeast is a pretty minor expense and will put your mind at ease.
 
I once brewed a porter that took 3 days before any activity. I was nervous as you are but it picked up on day 4 and fermented to the appropriate FG.
 
That yeast wasn't sitting on a UPS truck traveling through the desert southwest or anything, was it?
 
Take a SG reading. Perhaps it's fermenting but leaking somewhere.

I use 2 gallon buckets w/no rubber seal and most of the time I see no air lock activity but I get beer in the end and pretty damm good beer to boot.
 
It kicked in after around 36 hours and is going strong now. SG didnt drop until I saw bubbling though. I guess I overeacted but I did learn a few things. And yes it came on a truck. cheers!
