I have checked my seals and my airlock they seem to be fine. I added honey to the primary to raise the gravity prior to pitching yeast. I did not rehydrate the yeast. I am brewing a I.P.A ptiched yeast at 72 degrees. Any ideas?

after pitching yeast how long should you leave cover off. I usually cover right after I pitch and have never had a problem. but I've heard to let it aerate also.

Put cover on immediately after pitching, then shake it like crazy until you can't shake anymore. Or, go buy an oxygen cylinder and an aeration stone, and gas it for a minute...
