I found a nitrogen kit for $224 from Keg Cowboy which is the lowest I have been able to find - My first question is of course is does anyone know of anything any cheaper? My second question is can anyone that actually has one of these systems tell me some of the dos and don'ts with these kits? There is a 33 CF nitrogen tank that can be added for $95 but this seems like it is way bigger than what I would need. Any advice or assurance on this product would be appreciated.

$224 doesnt include any kind of tank! Rip off! Ive been doing some research last week on a setup. Here is the cheapest I found.

Nitro tank from distributor (welding supply shop): $67 for 20cf
Nitro reg on ebay: $55
Guiness tap only (dont need the keg connector): $60

So for less than $200 you can piece your own together. The ebay prices are BIN prices, not auctions, so you can probably find something cheaper if you hold out a bit.

Thanks for the quick response but the nitrogen regulator from KegCowboy.Com is only $44 or $10 less than what you found on EBAY.
I would love to have the name of yout tank company because this is the cheapest aluminum nitrogen tank that I have found. Are you talking about a steel one because they were alot cheaper?

I think you are forgetting the shank which adds about $15 and the faucet which is about $80 which would make doing it yourself way more plus hoses clamps etc.

Anyone else have any ideas?

They do but it you take out the U coupler and replace with a type S like KegConnection has ,,,then this KegCowboy kit is also under $200 - I already have compared the KegConnection Kit and Keg Cowboy is lower. Why is it the two lowest priced options for Kegerator Kits are both in Texas?

Keg Connect does offer smaller tanks though so thanks for pointing that out - but I would want an aluminum tank not a painted steel - man I sound bratty.

The reg on ebay is free shipping, keg cowboy is not, so similar price. There is no real point in having an aluminum small tank, they already weight nothing, and they need to be hydro'd 2x as often (5 years instead of 10). Waste of money if you ask me.

Also, readd your prices. The prices I gave add up to $182. Add a shank etc and your talking maybe another $25 on the high end. The guinness tap IS a stout faucet. Thats why its a cheaper route to go vs buying a new stout faucet. So again, its way cheaper to piece your own together.

i would order from keg connection. They can hook you up with everything you need and sometimes its better to order everything from one shop.

btw whats the difference in performance on steel vs alum in nitro tanks ?

Its a tank...there is no "performance" difference. Ones heavier (and at that size it cant be much), and one needs to be hydro'd 2x as often. They both output the same gas at the same pressure.

I have a 40cf tank. Compared to my 20lb CO2 tank it is pretty small. I would definitely get a 40cf+. You will run out fairly quick since you are running it at 30psi at all times.
