Due to my new brew room setup i am stuck with 3 each 120v/15amp circuits to work with. So its time to buid something that will work with what it have.

This will be the first equipment added to my new electric brewery. I am making a DIY eBIAB 15 gallon kettle. I have a 7.9gal fast-ferment so i am guessing i will be heating about 10-12 gal for mash-in.

I have not purchased anything yet, i just wanted a second opinion for this DIY build. www.brewhardware.com is where i found all the materials it is a very helpful site.

-15gal brew pot
-Two - 1650w ULWD elements with 12ft cords(NEMA 5-15 plug ends and 14/3 cord)
-Hot pot kettle element(housing for element outside of kettle)
-Controller for one of the elements????? NEED HELP! Option 1 Uni-stat III or Option 2 Linkbird IPB-16. Both look ok. I am leaning towards the Uni-stat III since it has the reduced power setting to help temp over shooting. But i have never brewed with any electric equip so any input is good info and will help me get brewing quicker :)

What will be your element configuration in the kettle? Same horizontal plane or offset vertically?

Are you doing a basket or a bag? If you are doing a bag, you will probably want to look into a false bottom to keep the bag off the elements. If you are doing a basket, you will want to make sure it has feet to keep it elevated above the elements.

Are you buying a kettle with fittings already installed?

I will be drilling the kettle holes and installing the heat elements myself. I will get a false bottom also before I drill the hole for the elements so I can adjust for the mounting height. I was thinking of mounting them at the mid point between the bottom of kettle and top of the false bottom. I will be using the grain bag from brewing
