I am placing an order for a Master brewing kit from Midwest and hope to try my first extract/kit brew very soon.

Not sure, where is the best place to order extract kits? I was looking at some sort of Ale from Midwest. Was looking at the Raspberry Red Ale but not sure that would be a good 1st brew?

Welcome :mug:
Midwest has a lot of good kits.
That one should work for you, just an extra step for adding the raspberry flavoring, but I believe it's at bottling time, so it's just one more thing that you will have to add to the bucket, besides the priming sugar.
Just follow the directions and all should be fine. :)

Ordered the Liberty Cream Ale and the Autumn Amber Ale from Midwest for my first two brews. Need to find a fridge to put my keg in now. I should receive my brewing kit and beer kits in time to boil on Sunday. Can't wait!

Somebody from Fargo! Awesome. I am here in Fargo as well. I started out just like you, extracts from midwest supplies. I quickly moved to all grain and never looked back. You know we have home brew supply store in town correct? Actually there are 3 places to get brewing supplies.

1 vitnters cellar on broadway - Carboys for $20, yeast, hops, kits and pretty much everything you need for extract

2 tochi on 2nd ave north. Good selection of hops in the freezer, you have to ask. Extract kits and various supplies

3 COuntry Cannery in Moorhead. THis place is the real deal, they have everything you need and are priced right and knowledgeable. THey grind my grains for free and I always stick around and and shoot the $hit with them for a while while I am there. I actually named my ESB after one of the cannery guys. Double Karl ESP

Good luck with you brewing!

if you have any questions or need help, just shoot me a PM...or if you want to see the all grain process in action, while drinking some might fine homebrew...there is always room in my garage.

also, I have found northern brewer to be the best place to get kits from, 7.99 flat rate shipping and you have the option leave the yeast, bottle caps and priming sugar out of your kit order. You can get all grain cream ales, nut browns and many other great recipes for well under 20 bucks. THe cream ale is like 13.

Hey jhubert, permo! I'm just an hr north of you fellas, in GF. We have a small club up here that meets one Thurs. a month at Happy Harrys. :)

Nice to hear from some locals right away. My Master brewers kit is going to be delivered on Monday and home to do my first boil next week sometime. My problem is I plan to keg my brew and need to start looking for a fridge fast. Any recommendations on a small fridge would be great.
