Hey guys,

I just want to say hey to all you guys since I hope to be on this forum for quite a while and start brewing my own beer. I havent quite explored everything yet so bear with me if things have been repeated and such. I am also using the mobile app for Android so I will get the hang of this stuff lol.

I decided I wanted to brew my own beer a few months ago, but have been swamped with work and personal things. I am finally ready to get into gear and making some brew.

The question I have first of all, is where to start. Is there any suggestions you guys have that will help me get a good start?

I appreciate the help!

Thanks,

E

Go to Northern Brewer web site. Watch videos, read knowledge sections. Eventually, purchase a kit. Take it slow. It's all about the journey.

Awesome thanks flamingtop! I'm really excited about all of this :)

Research around here and on youtube. Get started with a kit and expand from there. Make a list of the things you need and post your list. HBT peeps will help you complete it.

Thanks krug. I have a Mr.Beer kit at home that I got for a gift so I will probably start with that and work from there. I have heard mixed reactions on that kit so I was just curious with some of the starting ideas.

Look for a local homebrew shop(LHBS). it will save you shipping costs, and USUALLY they will help you with any questions you may have and will have everything you need to get started. Most places have a equipment kit that will include everything you need to get started, usually a little over $100, they usually don't include the pot. the size of pot is determined by whether you are going full boil or partial.

Mash, I have been looking for places around my area and found a few thus far, I just haven't ventured to them quite yet. Lol

It's a fun place. Where do you hail from? Definitely purchase a kit for the first time. Are you going extract? It's usually a good place to start to get the process down. Remember... cleanliness is your friend.
