Hello all!
After lurking for a few weeks and learning enough to brew, bottle, and crack open my first bottle of homebrew, it seems appropriate to introduce myself.
My name is Rob, and I live in York, PA, a recent transplant from central MD.
I own and operate my own small business in the electronic cigarette industry (if you don't know what that is, or want to know more about it, post or pm me and I'd love to explain it to you. I personally switched from a pack a day smoking habit, and it's worked well for 2 years)
I've been looking for a hobby, and have considered homebrew off and on for several years, but it took getting a Mr. Beer kit this past christmas to finally get started.
The following week, I bought 3 more kits from Woot.com for additional fermenters/HME kits/empty bottles (real deal!)
My first batch was made on Jan 1st- Mr Beer West Coast Pale Ale w 1/2 cup clover honey (per 2.5gal batch, double batch brewed)
Bottled on Jan 15th (2 weeks in fermenter), conditioned for 1.5 weeks before trying... IT'S BEER!
Still needs to condition longer for, but I drank down the first bottle and enjoyed it immensely anyway.
I have the Grand Bohemian Czech Pilsner (all HME) in fermenter until Jan 29th, and already purchased a 5 gallon Brewers Best fermenter kit, and a kit w/ specialty grains to make an Irish Red Ale
I'm excited to try out more recipes, and I can tell this is going to be a lot of fun!
