Well I am new to the home brewing hobby, and I want to start with wine. I haven't thoroughly read trough here yet, just got the app, but I am trying to get started with as little up front cost as possible. What would you all recommend?

Little background, I am a father of 6, a product engineer for a major cabinet making company, married to a wonderful woman that fully completes our little family.

Any and all help I can get and learn is greatly appreciated!!

Wine ingredient kits are great - everything you need to make a batch of wine and if you follow the instructions you are almost guaranteed that the outcome will be good. I've used the low-end (cost wise) Winexpert kits, called Vintner's Reserve, and have enjoyed them.

You'll also need equipment - two fermenters, tubing, corks and a corker, etc. Here's a good equipment kit http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/winemaking/winemaking-starter-kits/basic-winemaking-kit.html

Cheers and welcome!

I would suggest finding a local home brew store. An even cheaper wine kit that produces good wines are the Island Mist kits. They take about 4 weeks to make and can be drank almost immediately without aging. If you know your going to be inpatient (like i was) this would be the best to start on in my opinion. The other kits require about 1 -2 months aging before they really start tasting good. You will need a 7 gallon plastic bucket (food grade) a secondary vessel, normally we use a Carboy. You will also need a racking cane, and tubing, hydrometer and a wine thief. These are the basics you can get the other supplies, like bottles, corks, bottle filler and corker at a later time when your ready to bottle if you would like.

IF you can find a good basic equipment kit and willing for fork out $170 right away they normally come with a kit and your first 24 bottles and all the equipment you need to really get started. Other wise you can piece it together as you go and if you have a LHBS (local home brew supply) you might be able to piece it together for a little cheaper.

Welcome to the world of homebrew! Its a great hobby!

Welcome to the hobby. You can also search this site for fruit wines from fruit or fruit juice as well. Simple cheap and fun and usually as good as any you would lay cash down for at the store. If you use the better boy plastic fermenters you should be able to set up for 75 or less including hydrometer and a 7 gallon bucket for primary, auto siphon rack cane and two lever corker.
