Hey all, I have just become interested in brewing beer at home and this site looks like a great spot to get started!

:ban:

Can anyone give me any hints or tips or anything I need to know about brewing my own beer?

Hi and welcome to the forums. There is a lot of good info on this site and plenty of brewers that will answer your questions. Your best bet to get started at the basics is to read this site. >> How To Brew

Welcome to the board... Just keep brewing and dont give up.
Your beer will get better and better..:)

Star San for sanitation, and sanitize, sanitize, sanitize!

Fermentation temps are important
Your beer is mostly likely NOT ruined. Don't throw it out. Let it sit and try again in a few weeks.
Buy and use a Thermometer AND a Hydrometer (and test them for accuracy)
Don't bottle until your beer is completely done fermenting (unless you want your bottles to explode) and use your Hydrometer to find out when it's done.

The rest you can find here and at How to Brew - By John Palmer, and by listening to The Brewing Network.com - Beer radio | The Brewing Network™ for craft brewers and microbrews, and Basic Brewing™ : Home Brewing Beer Podcast and DVD - Welcome
