new to kegging lots of questions

Hi guys, just got my conversion kit from keg connection. it came with 2 corneys, 2 through the door perlicks, duel gauge reg and all the lines. I would like to go through the side of my fridge instead of the door but I don't know if there's any lines or wiring in the side. Its a roper model rt14dkxeh00 made in 97. Did a google on it but couldn't find any info on it. Not sure what to do here. Also I would assume to mount the taps you start with a small pilot hole than keep drilling bigger till I get close enough to use a holesaw bit? the kit did not come with instructions. is the final hole 5/8? Also when cleaning and sanitizing, should I do all this prior to mounting the taps or just run everything through with taps mounted into a tub or something? I've got lots more questions but hopefully somebody can just help get me going here. thanks gang

There are a few tricks that people describe around here such as using a baking soda paste with water and coating the area you will potentially drill. Then turn on the fridge and see if there are areas that evaporate much faster indicating that a coil is present behind that area. At least I think that is what I have read before. This would not help to locate any wires.

I would drill a pilot hole large enough for the bit within a hole saw to fit. Then take a hole saw to it.

You simply have to go just a little bit bigger than the size of the shank. The faucet cover will cover this up giving you some wiggle room with this size.

Also when cleaning and sanitizing, should I do all this prior to mounting the taps or just run everything through with taps mounted into a tub or something?
I would just wash them quickly with some soapy water or an oxiclean solution to remove any machining oils on the parts. Once it's installed clean the lines with some oxiclean and sanitize with some starsan. No need to sanitize anything on the gas side.

Usually, if the fridge has coils on the back of the fridge (outside the wall, attached to the back) then you're probably ok to drill through the side. If it doesn't have coils on the back, they are probably running through the back and/or side walls.

You can take a small drill bit and just drill through external layer on the side of the fridge. Then, take a wire and fish around to see if you hit any coolant lines.

yes I do have the coil on the outside back but I will still drill a small hole and fish around first to be safe. thanks for the tips fellas
