My wife located this board looking up growing hops in Texas. I got "her" a trellis for Christmas. I get to grow hops on one side. She gets to grow grapes on the other side. We'll see how they do.

Also under the tree was some equipment to do brewing events out in the back yard.

Current mead batch bottled. Vegan "mead" made from sorghum for a vegan friend.

Current ale batch. Gruit bittered with wormwood, mugwort and rosemary. Only a couple of bottles left.

These days I travel for work. Next brewing event in mid January.

Greetings, @Doug Freyburger, and welcome to HBT! :mug:

wrt the trellis plan, my 7 years of growing hops suggests you might consider "hers" and "his" trellises, because hops are typically quite unruly and will follow the sun regardless of what's in their way :)

Cheers!

Where in Texas? Hops might do very well in some areas, not so well in others. And not all hop varieties will work in your climate
