Hey everyone. For my birthday, my lovely wife got me a 5liter party kegorator and a starter beer brewing kit. I'm hooked! I made a pale ale, and it's currently ready to be bottled. My question is: I'm going to just use table sugar to prime this first batch, but what amount to use when priming the portion that is going into the 5 liter keg? And do I mix it with a small amount of boiling water? Don't want to make a bomb, and any advice will help.

Thanks

Depending on the fermentation temperature, you will need about 0.9 oz of table sugar. You can boil it for a few minutes in two cups of water, cool a bit and add to the keg. There are several priming calculators online that are quite helpful- here's one I use: TastyBrew.com | Homebrewing Calculators | Botting Priming Calculator

I hope you enjoy your new beer, and welcome to the hobby!
