Hi all, from rockville indiana. I have my first batch (irish stout) in secondary for 10 days now. new to brewing. i researched a ton before starting. i just joined homebrewtalk last week. i can't believe all of the great information on this site. it's awesome being able to talk and share ideas and get questions answered on a site like this. glad to join
 
Welcome to the board! You're right, there's all kinds of good information here and plenty of folks who are more than willing to help others out.

it turned out great. since then i have brewed 3 all grain batches, baltic porter (awesome)similar or better than DFH indian brown ale, an amber ale (still in fermenter), and an oatmeal foreign extra stout (in fermenter). this hobby is awesome. thanks for asking. :mug:
 
Sounds like your picking up on it fast. And your right this hobby is awesome. I m only on my third batch and plan to my first (ipa) today. My wife is starting to think have o.c.d.

i agree, you have to be a little o c d to truly enjoy this hobby, i am the same with my rc airplanes and fishing. i bottled my amber ale yesterday, and racked my foreign extra stout to secondary (it already tastes great, 8% abv too) all of my all grain recipes are my own, my mash tun gets me 82% efficiency. i love it. i can't wait to get another batch going, maybe this weekend. hope the ipa turns out good for you.
