So I want to make a nice light easy drinking summer beer, just slightly more flavourful than a budlight! I was planning on using pilsner light DME. If anyone has any thoughts id love to here it!

Best bet is to find a recipe in the recipe section for an extract light/hybrid ale. I would consider making a cream ale. Lightly hopped, light bodied, easy to drink.

I would recommend good German hops like Hallertau, and 1007 Altbier yeast. Ferment as close to 60 F (15-16 C) as you can get. Give it a good 3 weeks to finish fermentation before racking or bottling.

Cheers and welcome!
