Hello All, after spending a good 6-7 hours last night pouring over a few different topics (mostly the ones dealing with peoples "Kegerators") hunting for idea's and suggestions on how to tackle the project as a total first timer, I decided I had better join in hopes to learn from the many seasoned brewers on the site. My hope is that with tax returns coming in soon that I can try and get myself started on the Homebrew front. I am hoping to find the most economical ways to do this and am eagerly looking for advice/tips. My goal is this I'd like to be able to start Brewing my own beer and have a lovely home made "Kegerator" to dispense it from as nothing beats a Brew cold straight from the tap :-D. I know that from the get-go trying to make a fancy set-up will prolly shoot me in the foot, so I guess along with my Intro I shall ask these as reading for most of last night there was a lot of information to try and absorb so I am thinking maybe getting some advice on where to start may make things easier:
1.) What is the "best" way to jump into homebrewing (what equip will I need, what ingredients should I buy etc..)?
2.) What suggestions can anyone offer me on building a "Kegerator"? (I am looking to try and keep it as affordable as possible while still having the ability to expand upon it later)

I thank you all for your time and I hope to learn as much as possible :-D

1) You are very lucky to be from Nashua. Go to Jasper's Homebrew Supply in downtown Nashua (IMO the best homebrew store in NE) and talk to Jeff, the owner. He is amazingly helpful and was really instrumental in getting me started on brewing. I would recommend going into the store at a sort of off time (weekends are busy and it's a small shop) and talking to Jeff about your homebrew aspirations. Then buy a copy of "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing" from his shop and go home and read it. Come back a week or two later and buy one of Jasper's starter kits. Jeff has a huge archive of great recipes and will be able to help you out with that with no problem whatsoever.
2) Read some of the DIY forums on kegerators. There is a lot of information out there on the web. That way you can decide if you want to do a "keezer" version (chest freezer) or just drill a couple holes in the door of a standard fridge. If you want cheap with the ability to expand, you should start with one tap, then go from there. Tons of people do it and there is tons of info available online.

Awesome!! Thank you so much for the Head's up on Jasper's I never knew it existed but I will definetly go there now :-D
