Hi all! I've been stalking around these forums for a bit as I've begun my brewing adventure, and I thought it about time I sign up, introduce myself, and join the conversation.
My wife and I have a small place and for Christmas I received Brooklyn Brew Shop's Beer Making Book (small batch recipes). It was a culinary resolution I had to brew my own beer this year, and this was the perfect size and learning situation for me. So far, I've brewed two batches, the first (basic pale ale I'm calling Ramsay's Pale Ale) of which has been bottled and the second (a yet to be named coffee stout) will be this weekend.
As are most of us, I'm an avid drinker and am always willing to try something new, local, and a bit off the beaten path. I'm a huge fan of highly hopped ales and love the trend of alternative hopped beers. I especially want to formulate my own recipe this year. I love to cook and find it hard to stick to a recipe, so for now I'm keeping to the script.
I'm sure I'll have questions as I go. I have a very helpful co-worker who has shared some great tips, but I always enjoy seeing everyone's thoughts!
And yes, I live in Brookfield. In Illinois. By the zoo. Not IN the zoo!
*Cheers*
