Hey guys,
So recently I got quite the bug to make mead. Well I just bottled 2 gallons and I love it..one of the recipes I followed used Welch’s grape juice and honey..anyway, the finished product was very good but no honey came through. That got me thinking, I’d like to venture into the wine making world. I just need a point in the right direction. To start, I don’t have access to wine grapes so I’ll probably be attempting some Welch’s wine lol..so I have an idea for a recipe but I just need some pointers
64oz Welch’s grape juice
Enough sugar to reach SG
Enough water to reach one gallon
Raisens (I hear they add body)
Ferment all the way out
Once it has fully fermented I would like to experiment with oaking and other flavoring. I would like to add about 2 oz of medium toast oak for a few days until taste is appropriate. I’d also like to add something to give it just a hint of raspberry, but I don’t know if I would do that during or after primary. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free
