That looks really nice, but are these tanks even still being made anymore? I checked Lowes and there's only 3 stores of a dozen or more within 50 miles that have them. Ace Hardware is similar and I can't even find them on Home Depot's site.

The regulator only option is $75. If you want the carb stone as well it’s $150.

They have definitely been harder to find due to the pandemic however after talking to Bernzomatic it sounds like later this year things should start to ease up. Either way it's even more reason to buy one as it'll make a tank last up to 200 gallons!

Again, harder to find however if you do some searching you can easily snag a bottle or two (if you want an extra).

The 1/4 LPM is just the flow rate. There is more than enough pressure to oxygenate properly. All of our testing was done on actual tanks using actual wort and verified with a DO (dissolved oxygen) meter.

I have been looking for these oxygen canisters for the past three months in anticipation of the release ot this device. None of the big box store stores in my area have them judging by their online inventory. I found the last one they had at a mom and pop hardware store. I went ahead and ordered the device. Hopefully in the six months it will take to go through a bottle, they will start to become more available.

I got mine today and miraculously my big box store (Lowes) got in a shipment of O2 cylinders for the first time in four months.

I don't always want to use it on my conical, but I guess I can connect a carbonation cap to the ball lock disconnect, and then connect that to a wand.

Some Ace, Lowes and Tractor Supply stores in NW Ohio/SE Michigan have them. There's not a Home Depot within 100 miles that has them. All these companies offer buy online, pick up in store on these so if you find them allegedly in stock, at least you can be sure before you make a trip.

@SpikeBrewing I'm interested in purchasing this product as it's the only regulator with flowmeter built in for disposable oxygen tanks (great job on this!) but I've been holding back due to your warning about using generic carb stones.

I'm using a fermzilla all rounder and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. I really don't want to buy the recommended carb stone since the TC hardware is unnecessary for my purposes. I'm planning to connect one of these to a plastic carb cap via a silicone hose for oxygenating, then simply replace the carb cap with the standard fermzilla gas carb cap for fermentation. Why is there concern that your regulator won't work with a generic carb stone?

Back OT, I can't remember the last time I've seen disposable O2 cylinders in stock in any home center store. I bought an R-size refillable cylinder and regulator several years ago and never looked back. Haven't had to refill it yet. That 20 cu ft of O2 will probably outlast me.

Not close to any gas supplier, welding shop, medical supplier even. The medical one could be hard to get.

I'll say it out loud. The prices Spike is charging for that regulator and fitting is ridiculously too much. Yeah it has a ball lock QD and tubing as extra on the regulator but nearly 3x more for changing out the tank fitting? And $85 for the carb stone? I built a TC carb/O2 fitting for my unitank that includes a check valve and inline valve for a little over $50. In fact I built two. Key to doing that is an O2 stone with a 1/4" flare thread. Allows you to skip the tubing using a barb. If it breaks, the stone can be replaced inexpensively. I won't go into further details since this is their product launch page. I already posted it elsewhere. I did bite the bullet on an exchangeable tank. And sorry Spike I really don't see the capital investment sunk in here to justify the prices. You ran some experiments, measured DO, and changed out a fitting on what looks like a fairly generic O2 regulator.

I think that's fair, I'm leaning your way on this myself. I can get a generic o2 regulator (the brass ones without flow control) for about $60 and support my LHBS, and the flow control is about $30. I can pick up a generic carb stone for $15, so call it $110 with tubing. The Spike will set me back about $160. So ~$50 for a bit of convenience and a slightly neater package. Not sure it's worth it. Keep in mind prices here are CAD, I'm sure it's significantly less for this stuff in the US.

At $28, the one in your first link has the best price I've seen. I think I paid ~$40 for mine at William's. I like it and it works well.
