Hey everybody!

I guess you could say I'm the latest new kid on the Forums. I've been reading a little bit about home brewing for a little while and just heard about this site and thought I'd stop by and learn as much as I can. My mother-in-law makes her own wine and it's been an addicting hobby for her; I'm looking forward to getting more and more addicted to the hobby myself!

Right now I'm just working with a Mr. Beer, but once I get halfway decent I'm hoping to upgrade. Any advice for a rookie? :D

Welcome! I'd say read all the stickied threads in the Beginners Forums. Being a newbie here myself I've taken the time to read those and have already gained a ton of knowledge.

Read one of the beer books or manuals and get yourself familiar first before upgrading. I read for a couple weeks before buying a starter kit and it helped tremendously before brewing. I live in the St Louis area as well, over in west county. My first batch is fermenting and cannot wait to start the next.

Hello - also from St. Louis! I have only been brewing for about 5 months and have just moved to extract (BIAB). This is not an easy hobby, and it is also the best hobby in the world! I am in Eureka Mo, if you are ever in the area.
