Well my kegerator is done. Having a buddy come over in a little bit to help me move it into the kitchen. My question is this, of you guys the use the 'set and sit' method of cardbing, what pressure do you use and for how long? I don't want to force carb at this time but I have 2 batches going iinto kegs once it is upstairs. All responses greatly appreciated.

Serving pressure (10-12psi) for about a week usually does it for me.

If I force carb, usually 2 days of 30 psi does it, but it is a much less accurate method. Sometimes it is enough, other times too much.

I'd recommend the first method.

Where are the pics? :)

Thanks guys for the fast responses. I plan on posting pics after it's upstairs and set up.Can't wait, no more bottles,(or at least not as many):ban:

Well all set up. Only have one keg on right now. Too beat after bowling.(read that as I've been drinking all afternoon):drunk: . Had a problem getting the keg to seal right but finally did. My problem is the tap on the left in the pictures. It's too long. It pushes the tap open. I have to get a smaller one for that side. Damn, I really like Dink. No laughing at the NY. I did it free hand and I know it sucks. But what the hell.

What's the Yankees business?? Couldn't you have picked a good team? ;)

How did you guys figure out where to drill the hole in the back?

There have been quite a few posts here asking questions about that...

You going to mount a drip tray under the taps?

Looks like a good way to get away from bottling!

I have an old Kenmore fridge I'm going to convert one of these days, once I get a new fridge for the kitchen...

Looks good...!!!! as for the tap pushing open... I think they sell small little things that screw onto the tap handle the allow for the handle to lean forward a little more...

here's a link.. i think this is what you need... I havent ever tried it or need it, but I think this will solve that handle problem...

I normally just let my kegs sit for a while at about 10-12 psi... then they are normally good after a few days to drink...

*cough* Diamondbacks *cough*

No seriously, really nice setup you got there.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I knew I'd take some flack for my team but hey, 26 World Championships can't be wrong:D .

I do plan on putting on a drip tray, just haven't gotten it yet. Also as far as the hole in the side for the CO2 line, I just started on the inside where I new I was going to be mounting my mainfold and drilled out from there. My only problem was I origionally drilled the hole for a 1/4" ID line and then switched to 5/16" ID for the gas line. I didn't have a big enough drill bit to widen the hole so I ended up using a dremel and grinding the inside out to make it big enough.

2Nd keg goes in when I get home from work. I wanted to try one first before taking o a chance on ruining 2 batches

I wouldn't think of laughing at it-I was thinking it would be a nice entry into the Imperial Hellfire label contest. After all, the Yanks are almost as evil as the Cubs.;)

No, really, nice setup-looks like it was a lot of work.:mug: :ban:

Weren't you worried about hitting a refrigerent line in the back? Thats is what is keeping me from put the CO2 tank outside.

Well I couldn't wait any longer. I tapped the keg of ale I've had in the fridge. Not bad but it's sure not carb'd enough. Only been 3 full days so its about how I expected.

I do the samething... everyday after its hooked to co2 I taste and see if its done... it normally takes 3-4 days to get fully carbed...

Well I'm p*ssed off. Went to tap my lager the other day to see how it was carbing and after I drew my glass and tried to shut off the tap it just kept pouring:eek:. Not full force but steady. Luckly the dogs dish was empty so I had something to drain it into while I unhooked the connect. Now I have to see if I can figure out what is wrong with it. Otherwise I need to buy a new faucet.
