OK, this is a VERY basic and noob type of question. I am installing brand new hoses for gas and liquid in my new keezer build. Is it expected/neccessary to clean (PBW?) and sanitize (starsan) all hoses prior to installing them inside the keezer?

For gas hose - I have the red BEVLEX 5/16"ID
For liquid hose - I have Bev-Seal Ultra Accuflex 3/16"ID PET barrier

Really, anything you are going to put in direct contact with anything you will later consume should be at least thoroughly cleaned one time prior. Vessels, valves, tubing, fittings, pump heads...one solid out-of-the-box cleaning is pretty basic common sense...

Cheers!

lol, i totally agree with the "basic common sense" notion. I was planning on cleaning everything anyways because Im a clean freak but also wasn't sure of star san treatment. Nevertheless, your right - use common sense. Given that everything is new to me on this and have been planning for over a year and building since last summer, its funny how little things, but VERY important things, pop up with no clear answer in the HBT forums, but then you forget - use common sense! :)

Do you suggest cleaning the gas line ? I've never done that . I guess if you do you just have to make sure its fully dry . I never even thought about the gas line tbo.

Not necessary for brand new gas line in my opinion. Not much can go wrong with new gas line barring any leaks.

I don't clean the gas lines, but I do rinse out and sanitize the new liquid lines.

You don't have to get real fancy--if you have a 5-gallon bucket of star-san, just submerge the tubing and let the star-san work through the whole length.

That's what I did with my Bev-lex tubing.
