New Hop rocket owner...do I need this nut?

Just got a new hop rocket from the wife as a late xmas present. Seriously stoked about this.

Out of the box the band clamp is tightened down with a regular nut, and the T bolt is in a separate bag.

Is there any reason to use that nut, or should I not use that and only use the tbolt to seal the thing? In the video on northern brewer, it appears John is using it without the nut. However I see several pictures around where people are using the nut and the tbolt.

Nope, ditch the nut, just use the t bolt.

Thanks River city. I didn't think it was needed, and actually made the item a bit more of a pain. I just thought it odd that they included it.
