Just a couple of first time things I like to clear up: Most of Guantanamo Bay is just a normal Navy Base (like 90%) and no we're not closing. When the news talks about Guantanamo Bay, all you hear about is the detention camps and not the rest of us that are down here. That having been said:
I got into homebrewing because I came from a spoiled background of enjoying high country stouts and porters in Colorado, and the only stout they carry here is Guinness. My startup kit is the Mr. Beer setup and so far it's been pretty fun and I've had good results. I ordered a second of their 2 gallon fermenters (10 bucks isn't a bad deal for a second one) and will probably start building my way up in complexity from where I'm at, but I'm not in a rush. My short term goal is to get some decent beer bottled, then possibly move down to kegging, but I have to work out the logistics of getting CO2 and Nitrogen tanks down here.
The way that I found this site: Googling for kegerator projects and I stumbled across Joker369's mega 7-tap keezer project (which turned out great btw).
Look forward to talking to you all off and on about brewing beer or whatever else!
