I came across this place as probably many have. I received my first homebrew kit approx a year ago and my first two batches I did extract brewing and followed the directions exactly and my beer turned out fine, a english style brown ale and a ipa. Decided on my most recent batch to experiment and make a holiday spiced stout, was sure how to go about this, so I googled for a recipe and came across this website. I was able to find the answer to my question and explored your forum a little more after that. As I plan to continue to homebrew I decided to join as the community here seems to be a helpful resource. Hopefully with my next batch I can move onto all grain brewing and further myself in this awesome hobby.

Welcome!

Do you live in the city, or in the burbs? There are LOTS of homebrewers in/around Philly. I belong to a relaxed/informal homebrew club that meets in Chestnut Hill if you are looking for a club...

I live in the northeast section of Phila in around Holmesburg/Mafair if you are familiar with that area. I may be interested in this club. Any other information you can give me?
