Hello. I got into craft and micro brews shortly after college. I've been exploring as many beers as possible and as the title suggests, I am a big fan of Dogfish Head brews. It is from watching 'Brewmasters' on Discovery that really got me thinking about making my own beer. Plus it gives my wife and myself something to do together.

I currently have my first batch fermenting in the basement using a liquid malt extract with my beginner set up and have already ordered and received my keg kit to avoid bottling. We are both very excited to see how it turns out, however I am really excited to work on my 2nd batch already and hopefully make the switch to all grain once I get the fundementals down. It seems as though the LME method wasn't at all what I expected and seemed to be a bit too easy and not as much fun. Still had questions as I was going through it though, but once I was done, I realized just how easy it was.

This site has already been invaluable to me with so much information. I must learn what I need in addition to my beginner setup along with what additional steps must be done to make a great tasting homebrew that I can share with all my friends.

You and the wife brew together? The wife just tells me what she wants.

Well....... We have only done the first batch which is still fermenting, and the kit I got with my setup was a LME and super easy which didn't take much 'help'. We just kind of went through the process together. I mean how are is it to boil water, stir in the LME, add cold water, stir it up and then pitch the yeast? Hopefully the next batch I choose will be more hands on for both of us.

But yes, we both love our beer and I got lucky enough that she likes the good stuff including Guinness, although she likes Shock Top as well. We can't all be perfect. :mug:
