So I've been on the boards for a few weeks now just soaking up knowledge and I figure I should introduce myself.

I started brewing at the beginning of this year with a 1 gallon craft a brew kit. After I made the kit, while it was still fermenting, I realized 1 gallon was not going to be enough. So I went to my LHBS and picked up a brewers best kit. So far I've made their IPA and Kolsch along with a Blonde ale and Chocolate stout that I found on this great site.

Right now I'm reading "How to Brew" to try and have the best understanding I can of why and how things work when brewing.

My setup is pretty basic right now, but I enjoy it and I can't wait to try my first beer that I brewed myself in a couple of weeks. From reading this site and watching Brewing TV I feel that I have learned more about beer in the past few weeks than I ever new existed. I love how you can make it as simple or as complicated as you want.

Since my brewing setup isn't anything special I figured I'd just post a picture of my beer shelf.

Welcome to the obsession! How to Brew is a GREAT book to learn from. I'd also suggest Designing Great Beers if you're into reading. Awesome thy you've got your own brew space already! Welcome to the fold

For someone who just started brewing this year, I'd say you have a pretty decent collection of equipment already, and a great start to brewing.

Welcome to the forum, from Minnesota!

Thanks everybody

I'll definitely look into it once I finish How to Brew. I kind of had to make a space for some reason the fiance didn't like having fermenting beer in the living room :p

Not that I'm complaining

Thanks, whenever I start a new hobby I tend to throw myself into it. Plus I learned a long time ago that having the right tools makes life easier and It's better to spend the money on them than to waste you time trying to work around it.

Looks to me you are off to a great start! This is a great place to learn and run questions by. You also have a bunch of great clubs in our area!

Best of luck!

Howdy! (I never really say that) I'm in Sugar Land, also.

This is a great site with lots of info and access to smart people to answer any question you may have. You're in the right place!

Thanks, I saw that there is a club in Sugar Land called the Imperialists, but when I went to their FB page there really wasn't anything recent on it.

I was surprised I've actually seen quite a few people on this site from Sugar Land.

Yeah I find it hard to believe there is not a active group in SL but, in the off change there really is not you can always go to the Foam Ranger in town or come out to my club the Cain Island Alers (CIA). We meet at No Label brewery once a month. Also join our FB page people are always trying to sell stuff you might need.

Also don't hesitate to look me up if you have any questions or need something.
