New Guy from Norcross GA

Just Brewed my first batch Yesterday 2/12/11. Whisky Stout that I found at a local Brew Store in Lilburn GA. I also bought my starter kit there as well. I've been wanting to do this for several years, but for some reason never started. I have a friend at work that just started about 2 months ago and it motivated me to start! I did a Mr. Beer kit that my wife bought me for christmas about a year ago and it was ok. It was drinkable but not very tasty. I realized if I was really going to do this, I needed to do it the right way. My first batch was fun and I look forward to brewing a lot more in the future!

Any local Brew Clubs around?
Also, any recommendations on books for new brewers?

Best book IMO. I read front to back after my first brew, understood 20% of it. 5 months later read it again and understood 75% of it. Its amazing how far along you come.
